Disney's Magic Kingdom is the original (and some say
best) Disney park in Florida. It first opened in 1971, and is
divided into 6 'Worlds', arranged around the 'hub' of
Cinderella's Castle.
For most of our guests it's the most memorable of the
parks, so we recommend that you plan to spend a couple of days
here if you really want to get to see all of it.
As you enter the Magic Kingdom, you come into Main
Street USA, an replica 1900 street and square lined with shops
and City Hall and leading to the dreaming spires of the
beautiful Cinderella's Castle at the end of the
street.
Once you reach the end of Main Street USA (some
guests even take a couple of hours to get down it!), you're
faced with the first of many choices. Do you walk onward to
explore Cinderella's Castle? Or do you head straight for on of
the 6 'Worlds' in Magic Kingdom to really start your fun?
Make sure that, during your visit, you schedule a time
to be on Main Street USA for one of the parades. They're a
magical way to start the day or to end it with one of the
light parades.
You can also get a schedule (from Town Square) to find
out where to meet and greet the Disney characters like Mickey,
Minnie, Goofy and many more.
Whatever you decide - the fun starts here!

Tips for
Guests
The original (and biggest) of the
Disney parks - so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and take
some sun-block with you. We recommend that you also use the
lockers (located near the entrance/exit) which will make it
easier for you to enjoy the park. |

We recommend that all guests
use the FASTPASS machines to plan their times on the 2 or 3
rides at Disney MGM. If you want to avoid the majority of the
crowds, without using the FASTPASS machines, then get to the
park early, work out which rides you want to see most, and
then plan a time to see them when most guests are having their
lunch at the park (between 12 noon and 2:00pm).
Arrive
as early as you can, as many rides have BIG lines during busy
times. The one's that get really busy are Tower of Terror,
Muppet 3D, The Great Movie Ride and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster.
We also recommend that you plan 2 days at Magic
Kingdom to be sure to get the most from the park. Plan it like
a campaign - be sure to get the park map with all of the
attractions, then use our table on the left to figure which
rides and attractions are 'must see' features for your family
- then plan each day accordingly, spreading the BIG rides and
attractions over the 2 days.
Check out the tip board
first thing. There's one near to the entrance (ask where it
is). Here you can plan you day be finding the waiting times
for popular attractions/rides, the times for that day's
parades and shows, and which (if any) rides are closed.
Most attractions, restaurants, shops and shows are
fully accessible to guests using wheelchairs and walking
assistance devices. Additional services are available for
guests with visual or hearing disabilities.
For a
detailed overview of the services offered, including
transportation, parking, attraction access, and more, collect
a copy of the Guidebook for Guests with Disabilities at Guest
Relations.
