 Disney Animal
Kingdom features an 'enormouse' new theme park with live
animals and thrill rides, dominated by the 14-story tree of
life in which a short animated presentation is shown in a
subterranean cinema.
Animal Kingdom celebrates one
amazing adventure after another with exciting attractions,
wild animals, terrific stage shows and loveable characters!
The Oasis
Guests enter the park through 'The Oasis', a
lush botanical garden designed to help guests understand the
habitats of many of the fascinating creatures to be found at
Animal Kingdom.
This a lush garden setting alive with
streams, flowering glades, waterfalls and animals that include
iguanas, sloths, macaws and other fascinating creatures. As
they continue past the animals and walk through a series of
grottoes, guests are treated to their first incredible view of
The Tree of Life - which is adorned with over 325 animal
carvings - spectacular!
Animal Kingdom is split into 5
separate areas, each with its own distinct theme. Guests
typically spend a full day at Animal Kingdom in order to see
all of the attractions and features.
To take a tour
of each of these areas, simply click on one of the boxes on
the left of this page. We've provided a review of each section
of the park to help you plan a fantastic day.
Highlights at Animal Kingdom include an
authentic African Safari, a white-water rafting ride (very
wet!), and a race back in time to prehistoric
lands.
Please note - In deference to the well-being of
the wildlife at The Animal Kingdom, Disney do not provide a
close-of-day firework show.

Tips for Guests We
recommend that all guests use the FASTPASS
machines to plan their times on the best rides at Animal
Kingdom. If you want to avoid the majority of the crowds,
without using the FASTPASS
machines, then get to the park early, work out which rides you
want to see most, and then plan a time to see them when most
guests are having their lunch at the park (between 12 noon and
2:00pm). Another tip worth trying is to travel around the park
ant-clockwise - you'll see what we mean when you get there,
and most guests travel in a clockwise direction!
Take
a sturdy/comfortable pair of shoes when you go to Animal
Kingdom. It's massive - and by the end of the day you'll have
walked for miles.
Also, make sure that you carry bottled water
with you as you walk around. Some of the rides and attractions
have long lines and if the Kilimanjaro Safari is particularly
busy, Disney route the line through a hollow that builds the
most stifling heat.
Disney's Animal Kingdom is fairly
well laid out as far as access goes, especially for those
guests that need to use Wheelchairs. Generally the aisles and
pathways are plenty wide enough to accommodate any of the
electric mobility vehicles that can be rented within the park,
although many of the paths are uneven with small hills and
dips, which could make pushing a wheelchair bound guest very
tiring for a family member.
Directions Disney's Animal Kingdom
is located at the end of the Osceola Parkway on the western
end of Disney property, between Blizzard Beach and the Disney
All Star resorts. Guests can take the regular Magic Kingdom
entrance (exit 25B off Interstate 4), or the Disney exit off
Hwy 192 and follow the signs for Blizzard Beach.
Parking All-day parking for up to
6,000 vehicles at Disney's Animal Kingdom costs $6 for day
visitors. Transportation from the parking lot to the theme
park entrance is provided as with the other Disney theme parks
in the form of free trams, which run every few minutes.
