Once upon a time, a door opened and two worlds
collided. Dreams clashed with reality. The mundane mixed with
the marvelous. It was no longer possible to tell where one
world began and the other ended.
This new place was called La Nouba - and you found it
at Cirque du Soleil!
This is one show that you've just got to
see!!!!
Who can resist the circus? There is a curious
invitation that calls out from this huge, overpowering circus
tent at Downtown Disney's Westside. The white canvas shell
with its soaring peaks, tower above you at over 90ft - seeming
to be held to the earth only by an occasional stake. A
windowless structure that promises an adventure to all who
enter, a momentary escape from reality. It's within all of us,
this curiosity about the traveling road-show and the
amazements that it brings.
The 1,671-seat showroom is the first freestanding
permanent theatre ever built for Cirque du Soleil. The dynamic
white structure was designed to convey elegance and sensuality
with the addition of fabric and tension reminiscent of a Big
Top. The contrasting black showroom interior transports
the audience to another world as soon as they enter the
theatre.
The set on the Elizabethan-style stage is similar to a
well-traveled path. Gaze upward and look at the seven Fabulous
Figures that decorate the ceiling. The musicians perform on
two platforms housed in the 75-foot towers rising on both
sides of the stage.
This Cirque du Soleil creation is an unforgettable
journey through this universe - at once threatening and
exhilarating, frightening and familiar. La Nouba is the story
of all stories, the site of all mysteries, where dreams and
nightmares sleep side by side. La Nouba is memory, individual
and universal. It beckons to us, challenges us to uncover
passions we thought we had lost long ago. Here, anything is
possible.

Tips
for Guests Always book to see La Nouba. Don't
just turn up at Westside to get seats, as during peak times
and days, the theatre is full and you will be disappointed.
Try and get a seat midway up the rows. Don't go too
close to the 'stage' area, or you'll end up with a stiff neck
from looking upward!
